Natural ADHD Treatment – The Cause and Effect of ADHD
0 Comments | Posted by admin in ADHD Causes, ADHD Symptoms, ADHD Treatment & Education, Natural ADHD Cures
When a doctor diagnoses someone with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), there is a standardized checklist of ADHD symptoms that is followed. This checklist is also used to determine what medication is prescribed.
ADHD is the result of a neuro-developmental disorder that leads to hyperactivity, poor impulse control, and a short attention span. This disorder affects between four and 12% of all school children, with boys being more prone to the diagnosis. However, some recent studies have raised concerns that many children have been misdiagnosed and that the medications being prescribed are come with dangerous side effects. On the other hand, ADHD natural remedies are safe, effective and affordable.
While the causes of ADHD are not fully understood, many factors seem to contribute to its development. These include genetic factors, cerebral infections, premature birth, alcohol and/or drug use during pregnancy, lead poisoning, and head injuries.
People suffering from ADHD symptoms will be very fidgety, needing to be constantly on the move. They can also display violent behavior, be extremely talkative, and messy. Most commonly, an ADHD treatment involves prescribing medications like Ritalin and Adderall. It is important to know that these medications are actually stimulants and are classified similarly as cocaine.
It is also important to understand that this disorder is a relatively recent invention. The word “hyperactivity” was not added to the dictionary until 1987 and a diagnosis of ADHD was rare until 1999.
It seems as though modern medical and psychiatric institutions have broadened the scope of an ADHD diagnosis to include children who are simply high spirited, active, and strong willed.

Don’t Let This Happen to Your Child…
Most parents of children who suffer from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are concerned about the side effects that powerful prescription medications will have on their children. Depending on the severity of the disorder, some parents choose to simply live with a hyperactive child. Others feel they must watch their children suffer in order to secure a future for them.
The harmful side effects of the drugs most commonly used to treat ADHD include nausea, headaches, addiction, and in rare cases death. Unfortuantely, because of the powerful lobbyists the pharmaceutical industry employs, many of these side effects are not made public and the truth about the risk associated with these drugs is often kept from parents. However, after watching their happy children become morose and serious, some parents have opted to stop the pharmaceutical treatments and look for natural ADHD remedies.
A Natural ADHD Treatment
By using certain dietary alterations, a child’s behavior can be controlled through the use of herbal and vitamin supplements. Contrary to popular belief, ADHD is not caused by sugar. Instead, it is caused by an overactive mind. A safe and effective ADHD treatment is to give your child a natural mental stimulant. While it may sound contradictory, certain natural stimulants, like ginseng, will help your child maintain focus and ignore the urges to act out in school.
Not only are natural ADHD remedies safer, they are less expensive as well. Instead of spending thousands of dollars to control your child’s ADHD, only to have the medications become habit-forming, you can treat the disorder by visiting a well-stocked grocery store or any local health food store. By using natural ADHD remedies, you can not only help your child gain entry into a good college, you can save enough money to pay for tuition, too!

Alternative ADHD Treatment – Ginkgo Biloba
0 Comments | Posted by admin in ADHD Natural Remedies, ADHD Treatment & Education, Natural ADHD Cures
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is most commonly treated with a collection of prescription medication, including Ritalin and Adderall. These medications work by stimulating the activity of the brain. However, the FDA has recently conducted research into the long term effects of these drugs and found certain harmful side effects. As a result, many parents are looking for an alternative ADHD treatment for their children.
One of the most popular of these natural ADHD remedies is ginkgo biloba. This herb has been found to have extremely positive effects on the brains of ADHD sufferers. Having been long used as a natural way to enhance mental abilities, ADHD sufferers are now discovering that it can be used to increase mental focus and memory.
Ginkgo has also been found to reduce other aspects of ADHD, including restlessness and hyperactivity. Ginkgo has the ability to solve these problems without the increased aggression and irritability that often accompany pharmaceutical treatments. Over time, the effects of ginkgo have been found to be lasting, which is another advantage of this alternative treatment over prescriptions.
Herbs – Natural ADHD Remedies
Herbal remedies are often used by concocting a mixture of several herbs to treat a certain condition. The combined effect of several herbs are often far more potent than one herb used alone. Herbs that are often combined to treat ADHD include:
- Skullcap – You can make a skullcap tea by mixing 1 oz. of the powdered herb to a pint of boiling water. Steep for 10 minutes. Drink ½ teacup every few hours. Should not be used by pregnant women
- German Chamomile – Chamomile is one of the most popular and safest herbs to use. You can find it in most grocery stores in the tea aisle. Because of its calming characteristic, it makes for a nice ADHD treatment.
- Gotu Kola – Gotu kola is often called “food for the brain”. This oriental herb helps improve concentration and memory.
Using ginkgo in combination with these herbs has been shown to be highly successful in addressing the hallmarks of ADHD.

Alternative ADHD Treatment – Just Say No to Drugging Our Children

Consider the fact that never before in the history of the world have we ever seen the mass drugging of children. Billions of pharmaceutical dollars are invested in prescribing psychotropic drugs to control the brains and inevitably the minds of this rising generation. This is crazy. Instead, we need to look at the effectiveness and safety of an alternative ADHD treatment…one that uses natural home remedies.
The pharmaceutical numbers are shocking.
According to a comparison based on a new U.K. study, US children are prescribed anti-psychotic drugs at about six times the rate of children in the United Kingdom.
Does it mean U.S. kids are being over-treated…or that U.K. children are being under-treated?
Experts say that’s beside the point, because prescribed drug use for children is rising in both countries. And with absolutely ZERO long-term safety data, it’s obvious the drugs are being over-prescribed for both U.S. and U.K. children.
The truth is most medicines being prescribed haven’t even been officially approved for kids. The most commonly prescribed drugs are for behavior and conduct disorders, including ADHD treatment and an increasing percentage being prescribed for autism.
Side effects including weight gain, nervous-system problems and heart trouble and even cases of death have been reported in children using these dangerous drugs.
In fact they are just beginning to recommend heart testing be done on kids now that they have noticed more fatalities.
It seems they will stop at nothing to justify selling drugs to children. They used to sell Thioridazine to treat hyperactivity, until they found out it was damaging young hearts. In the U.K they prescribe a drug used for schizophrenia (Risperdal) to treat irritability . . .
How many children really need drugs . . . especially knowing there are natural health remedies used for ADHD treatment that are proven and safe?
Many pediatricians are standing up against the insanity and challenging the claim that ADHD is really a “disease” at all. So to defend themselves, researchers for Big Pharma are claiming brain scans of children diagnosed with ADHD are “smaller” and less developed.
This is outrageous!!!
Skull and brain size is NOT a marker for intelligence.
Bottom line . . . there are NO specific cognitive, metabolic or neurological markers for ADHD. And, there is NO medical test to diagnose it.
If you’re not upset by what Big Pharma policies are doing to our children, you are simply not paying attention. The best way to fight back is to claim responsibility for the health of your child and encourage others to do the same. Evidence-based science is easy to find and more and more natural ADHD remedies are being discovered everyday.
Please don’t stop looking until you find your own natural ADHD remedies. Thank you for reading my letter today, I just had to share it with you to let you know that there are alternatives to drugs. Take the time to discover an alternative ADHD treatment for your child.
Live well,
